Activision Blizzard's Robert Kotick Speaks to TOWN HALL Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - February 12, 2009) - Robert Kotick, Chief Executive Officer of Activision Blizzard, Inc., will speak to TOWN HALL Los Angeles on "Entertainment in the 21st Century" as part of its ongoing CEO series on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel.

Referred to as a "cultural phenomenon" Activision's Guitar Hero series of music video games uses a range of both licensed and independent rock music tracks from the 1960s to the present. "The broad age appeal is something we've never seen before," says Kotick. As of October 9, 2008, the series has sold 23 million units earning US$1.6 billion at retail, with an impact of a 200 - 300 percent increase felt by record companies and retailers in artists' music sales.

Founded in October 1979, Activision, Inc. was the first independent developer and distributor of video games for gaming consoles. In 1991, Robert Kotick bought the insolvent video game maker turning it into the largest video game publisher in the world. Over the course of his 18-year tenure shares in Activision have risen 40-fold.

In 2008, Activision Blizzard was formed by combining Activision and Vivendi Games, Vivendi's interactive entertainment business, which includes Blizzard Entertainment's® World of Warcraft®, the world's #1 subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game. TOWN HALL members will attend a pre-program reception featuring a demonstration of Guitar Hero.
