ACWA Presents Leadership Award to Paul Jones

Honored for Advancing California Water Issues


MONTEREY, CA--(Marketwired - May 7, 2014) - The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) presented its 2014 Excellence in Water Leadership Award today to Paul Jones, general manager of Eastern Municipal Water District.

Jones has devoted his entire career to California water. Under his leadership, Eastern has significantly reduced its reliance on imported water by achieving 90% beneficial reuse of its recycled water and strengthening its groundwater recharge programs. Jones also has helped advance recycled water programs throughout California and the nation. He served as past president of the California WateReuse Association and as California's representative on the WateReuse National Board of Directors.

"This award is ACWA's way of recognizing leadership and contributions that make a lasting difference in California water," said ACWA President John Coleman. The Excellence in Water Leadership Award - Building a World of Difference® recognizes groups or individuals who have made a remarkable and visible contribution to California water. The award, sponsored by Black & Veatch Corporation, was presented at ACWA's 2014 Spring Conference & Exhibition, which continues through Friday in Monterey.
