ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwired - December 15, 2016) - Adacel announced today that the Company has been granted another United States patent for an invention related to the Company's work in speech recognition technology.
The patent number 9,478,218 B2 "Using Word Confidence Score, Insertion and Substitution Thresholds for Selected Words in Speech Recognition" by inventor Chang-Qing Shu of Orlando, Florida has been cleared and issued to Adacel Inc. effective 25 October, 2016.
"This is the latest in a string of speech recognition related patents awarded to Adacel over the past several years," said Gary Pearson, Adacel CEO. "We remain committed to improving our speech recognition capabilities to enhance simulation training and operational capabilities for our customers."
The objective of the invention is to provide a system and method for using word confidence score (WCS) processing to improve the accuracy and precision of a speech recognition system. The initiatives embodied in this and other patents awarded to Adacel as well as significant ongoing work are the foundation of Adacel's Lexix speech recognition systems designed specifically for direct interfaces to engage and control advanced simulation and operational systems. Adacel uses Lexix within their own products, but also offers a speech development kit to enable third parties to integrate state-of-the-art speech recognition into their systems.
The newly patented technology is used in Adacel's Lexix speech recognition system and was showcased at the recent 2016 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) -- the world's largest event of its kind. Adacel's speech recognition technology was extremely well received as the extraordinary accuracy allows for highly realistic interaction with virtual entities.
Adacel is a leading developer of advanced simulation and training solutions, speech recognition applications and operational air traffic management systems. Adacel is particularly well known for innovations within the ATC simulation and speech recognition fields. The Company's products are widely used throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region. Adacel is listed on the ASX and further information on the Company can be found on its website at www.adacel.com.
