AdaptivCool Expands West Coast Data Center Operations

Greater Demand for Efficient Data Center Infrastructure Driving Growth

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - September 14, 2009) - AdaptivCool, the data center thermal management division of Milford, NH-based Degree Controls, Inc. (DegreeC), today announced the opening of a new West Coast office to accommodate greater regional demand for its data center thermal and energy efficiency services and solutions.

The new AdaptivCool office is located in DegreeC's Center for Air Flow and Thermal Technologies (CATT) in Santa Clara, California. The CATT facility, in addition to housing the new AdaptivCool office, will continue with its original mission of thermal design and validation of DegreeC's OEM and Contract Manufacturer products.

AdaptivCool's West Coast office will house demos for AdaptivCool's suite of data center efficiency offerings, which include HotSpotr and AdaptivCool's flagship technology, Room Scale Intelligent Cooling (RSIC). AdaptivCool RSIC can reduce cooling energy in a data center by thirty percent.

The West Coast facility will also allow for AdaptivCool's West Coast customers and partners to get faster real-time solutions to their questions about data center thermal management issues.

"Over the last six months we have seen tremendous growth on the West Coast," said Rajesh Nair, AdaptivCool's General Manager. "It's clear that with the rising cost of energy and attractive utility incentives, a larger presence on the West Coast makes sense for our long-term growth."

Over the last five years, AdaptivCool has helped numerous companies and organizations on the West Coast manage their data center's thermal and cooling environment. In addition, AdaptivCool has participated in many industry events including TELADATA's annual Technology Convergence Conference.

"Given the current state of IT budgets, data center managers and IT leaders are turning to the low-cost option of airflow optimization and realizing tremendous energy savings," said Dan Wilson, President of Wilson International Networking and former IT Manager for Osram Sylvania.

About AdaptivCool

AdaptivCool is the data center division of Milford, NH-based Degree Controls, Inc. AdaptivCool's flagship technology, Room Scale Intelligent (RSIC), uses temperature sensors to send information to a sophisticated Cooling Resource Manager that calculates minute-by-minute cooling demand and controls local airflow in the data center dynamically, via floor- and ceiling-mounted air movers, reducing electrical consumption for data center cooling by up to thirty percent. In addition to RSIC, AdaptivCool also offers HotSpotr, a packaged product that eliminates data center hotspots. AdaptivCool's consulting services provide data center and IT managers with the tools necessary to ensure Thermal Peace of Mind™ in the data center. Services include CFD analysis, energy and thermal monitoring, as well as general best practices to help data centers achieve maximum efficiency.
