Adaptive Computing Attributes Sales Velocity and Success to Act-On

Adaptive's Sales Cycle Accelerates, Showing ROI Within First Month of Act-On Deployment

BEAVERTON, OR--(Marketwired - Jun 6, 2013) - Act-On Software, a leading provider of cloud-based integrated marketing automation software, today announced that Adaptive Computing, the largest provider of policy-based optimization software for High-Performance Computing (HPC) and private cloud environments, has implemented Act-On to help the company generate higher quality leads and accelerate its sales cycle.

Adaptive Computing is in the hot cloud computing space, selling to Global 2000 clients, and knew they could be marketing and communicating more effectively by using today's sophisticated marketing software to capture greater market share. Ian Nate, senior online marketing manager at Adaptive Computing, conducted a comprehensive review of leading marketing automation vendors that included a side-by-side comparison of product features, ease of integration, and cost. Among the criteria was choosing a solution that could scale with the company's explosive growth. He selected Act-On as the right answer for the company's marketing initiatives.

"It's very painful to move from one solution to another. We wanted a solution that would last us a long time, one that we would not outgrow. We have that in Act-On," said Nate.

Prior to Act-On, Nate was spending time manually importing lead information from web forms in the My SQL database. Once Act-On was implemented, that information was automatically updated and immediately made available in Salesforce. The time savings Adaptive Computing has experienced in moving from manual import to automated data collection alone has justified the cost of adopting marketing automation. "Act-On has already paid off tenfold," comments Nate.

A single instance of Act-On replaced three disparate marketing systems, simplifying program management and saving more time. Act-On also seamlessly integrated with Adaptive Computing's Salesforce and GoToWebinar software applications, helping to streamline its event marketing programs and the transfer of leads to sales. This has reduced administrative headaches and freed up time so that Nate and his team can focus on the marketing work at hand -- not wrestling with the underlying technologies. Implementation, a process that any software administrator knows can be lengthy and frustrating, was neither. Nate did it himself, without assistance from IT.

"We were up and running and integrated with Salesforce in no time. Not months, not weeks, not days, but hours," said Nate.

Before implementing Act-On, it took Adaptive Computing up to three weeks for the sales team to follow up with the prospects who registered on the website and downloaded the free Open Source scheduler. Now that the registration data is automatically entered into Act-On and synchronized with Salesforce, the sales team can make that contact within 24 hours. The fast response time has better positioned the team to reach out to the prospect at the right time, enhancing the opportunity to convert the customer from the free Open Source scheduler to the Adaptive Computing HPC optimizer. The typical sales cycle is six to nine months, but within the first month of deploying Act-On, Adaptive Computing already saw that the marketing automation suite was having a positive impact on their sales cycle.
