Adaptive Insights Founder Robert S. Hull Named Finalist for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2016

Recognized as Pioneer in Cloud Financial Planning Industry

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 1, 2016) - EY announced that Robert S. Hull, chairman and CEO of Adaptive Insights, the worldwide leader in cloud corporate performance management (CPM), is a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2016 Award in the Northern California Region. The awards program, which is celebrating its 30th year, recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Hull was selected as a finalist by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 24, 2016, at The Fairmont San Jose.

"Rob's vision to change finance has led the way not only for Adaptive Insights, but for the cloud-centric planning industry," said Terry Opdendyk, founder and managing director of ONSET Ventures and Adaptive Insights board member. "When we were creating Adaptive Insights long before cloud computing and SaaS went mainstream, Rob recognized the need for more collaborative and adaptive ways for finance teams to raise the level of corporate performance management. With this nomination for EY's Entrepreneur Of The Year, Rob's commitment and vision are being recognized for the significant impact he has had, and will continue to have, on corporations around the world."

Hull's early focus on a cloud-based solution for finance teams enabled Adaptive Insights to gain and maintain a leadership position in the growing cloud CPM industry. According to Forrester Research, almost 20% of companies surveyed in late 2015 had replaced all or most of their accounting systems and financial tracking applications with cloud alternatives, while 24% planned to do so within two years.

Driving Strategic Finance Forward
Hull's far-reaching impact on the cloud planning industry was evident at Adaptive Insights' recent user conference, a gathering of 1,400 finance professionals--all users of the Adaptive Suite created by Hull. In his keynote speech at the event, Hull focused on the financial transformation companies have achieved since moving their financials to the cloud, resulting in increased collaboration and business insights that impact overall corporate performance. Exemplary finance transformation stories were showcased with the annual Torchie Awards, recognizing customers who have achieved excellence in strategic FP&A categories such as operational planning, forecasting, and performance management. The winning customers include California Olive Ranch, Cumulus Media, HireVue, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and ZAGG.

Also in attendance was Adaptive Insights' first customer, NASCO, an information technology provider to the healthcare industry. NASCO was presented and implemented by its partner InnoVergent in 2005.

"As an early adopter of Adaptive Insights, we were excited about the opportunity to utilize intuitive, cutting-edge technology to assist us in our data analysis," said Chris Hauser, CFO for NASCO. "Since that time, NASCO has grown significantly, and we still rely on Adaptive Insights' tools to support our financial focus and the ever-increasing need to make sound business decisions."

Hull's impact on financial transformation was seen at this year's 2016 Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards, where Adaptive Insights customers composed approximately 40% of the finalists and represented nominations in every category. The winners include Adaptive Insights' customers Chuck Kurth, Art.com; Brian Roberts, Lyft; and Kim Ondreck Carim, San Francisco Ballet.

"Rob's vision for a collaborative, cloud-based solution is being realized by Art.com," said Kurth. "The productivity and quality control we have gained, combined with our ability to speed decision-making and gain insights into the data, has allowed us to guide business decisions that drive performance. Adaptive Insights' software has definitely streamlined and strengthened our financial planning process."
