Adapx Announces Capturx Forms for iPads -- the Easiest Way to Build Custom Online or Offline Forms for iPads

Even Non-Technical Teams Can Quickly Create Custom Forms for iPads With Excel to Speed Data Capture Into a Range of Back-End Systems

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Oct 30, 2012) - Adapx, the leader in natural user interfaces for data capture, today announced Capturx Forms for iPads, the easiest way to build custom forms solutions for iPads. Capturx Forms Solutions have long made it easy for mobile teams to automate data capture into a range of back-end systems using familiar tools like Microsoft Excel and SharePoint Server with PCs, tablets, and digital pens. With Capturx Forms for iPads, now even non-technical teams can create custom offline-capable forms solutions by simply using Excel and eliminating the need for developing expensive native iPad apps.

As many teams look to automate mobile data capture with iPads, they hit the limitations of browser-based apps which can't be used when devices are out of the network range. Building custom client apps for data capture into back-end systems that can be used while iPads are offline usually involves expensive and time-consuming custom development. The expenses increase as processes evolve and teams inevitably change and make new forms.

"With Capturx, our workflow set-up is easy and flexible, forms are simply designed in Excel for use with either digital pens or iPads," said ShaRonne Hanson, Manager Fleet Crew Medical, Holland America Line. "We don't have to worry about creating a new app for each new form that we use with the iPads."

Capturx works with existing or new Excel-based forms, which even non-technical teams can custom to their unique workflows and back-end systems. Excel-based form templates are uploaded to the Capturx Forms Service in the cloud or to Capturx for SharePoint on-premises, where they can be easily downloaded by iPad users. Mobile workers can simply capture and store data on their iPad until the network is available again.

"The offline capabilities of Capturx are a great fit with our field users, enabling them to collect data onsite in remote locations for uploading later," said Kennedy Owuor, United Nations World Food Programme. "Capturx forms solutions for iPads deliver meaningful efficiency gains for data collection processes."

Capturx aggregates data captured with tablets, laptops, or digital pens making it instantly accessible in Capturx Forms Service, Capturx for SharePoint, or a range of other back-end systems.

"With our new iPad support, Capturx provides even more mobile device options for teams to match with their unique mobile workflows," said Ken Schneider, CEO of Adapx. "Teams still enjoy the same familiar tools and standards-based formats that Capturx uses to automate workflows with SharePoint, SAP, Oracle, and a range of other back-end systems."
