Adapx Announces Finning Customer Case Study and Partnership With Navantis to Streamline Oil and Gas Field Paperwork

Capturx Solutions for Automating Field Service and Inspections Using Digital Pens to Be Showcased at the 2011 Oil Sands Tradeshow and Conference

FORT MCMURRAY, AB--(Marketwire - Sep 13, 2011) - Adapx, the company that is changing the way field teams collect data and collaborate, today announced that its Capturx solutions for automating oil and gas field service with digital pens have been adopted by Finning, the world's largest distributor of Caterpillar products and support services. The announcement was made at the Oil Sands Tradeshow and Conference in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where Adapx also announced a new partnership with Navantis, Inc., to provide integration services for enterprises using Capturx to streamline field data capture into a range of back-end systems. Adapx and Navantis will showcase Capturx in booth (#4208) at the Oil Sands Tradeshow and Conference on September 13th and 14th.

"As part of the world's largest Caterpillar equipment dealer, Finning (Canada) provides a range of equipment sales and customer support services to the oil field, pipeline, and other industries throughout Western Canada," said Sam Chapdelaine, Customer Services Manager of Finning. "Capturx helps us efficiently track the service paperwork for our planned approach to scheduled services, proactive maintenance and repairs, so customers can minimize unplanned downtime and get productivity when they need it."

The Capturx Forms Service provides Finning with real-time access to field service and timesheet data from remote field locations. As service teams fill out paper timesheets, their handwriting is instantly scanned by the digital pen. The pen can instantly send the data to the back-office through a simple USB connection to a PC or through a cell phone with built-in Bluetooth. The data is aggregated on central servers which provide immediate access to both the original handwriting and data tables using advanced character recognition. After quick review, the timesheet data is automatically uploaded into Finning's timecard management system, Kronos, through an integration completed by Navantis, Inc.

With automated payroll and billing processes, Finning now has real-time visibility into their customer accounts and service teams, allowing for faster scheduling and bill processing while also reducing unnecessary data entry and paper handling.

"Running efficient Oil and Gas operations requires effective strategies for managing and processing the huge amounts of field paperwork generated every day," said Sean Bredin, Vice President, Navantis, Inc. "We are excited to be delivering our award-winning Microsoft integration services with Adapx, so Oil and Gas firms can streamline data capture from Capturx into a range of back-end systems."
