Adapx Unveils New Capturx Solution for Automating Court Paperwork at the 2009 Court Technology Conference

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - September 21, 2009) - Adapx (www.adapx.com) today announced a new Capturx solution for automating paperwork in the U.S. Courts at the 2009 Court Technology Conference which runs from September 22 to the 24 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Capturx enables U.S. Courts employees to fill out forms on ordinary paper using digital pens, which record the information and make it immediately available to staff in Microsoft Office without scanning or transcription. Attendees can see live demonstrations of the Capturx solution in the Adapx booth #706. Adapx will also participate in the Federal Courtroom Technology Roundtable on Monday, September 21 at 1:30 p.m. where judges and court staff will discuss a wide variety of courtroom technology issues.

Court officers collect a range of case information on paper while conducting interviews both inside and outside of the court room. Officers have traditionally had to enter as many as 20-30 pages of forms per day into their case management system. The time-consuming data entry process creates extra work for the officers and bottlenecks which can interfere with tightly scheduled hearings.

Capturx speeds up the workflow by automatically digitizing the data on the forms as it's written by court officers using digital pens. The digital pen records and stores the information handwritten on each paper form. Once the court forms are filled out, the court officers simply connect their pens to their PCs and all the information is automatically integrated in Microsoft Office. The data is immediately available to all the collaborating agencies without the extra time and effort to manually type all the data into the case tracking system. Teams can see the data in the original handwriting, the handwriting converted into digital text, or as structured data tables.

The court officers can capture digital information simply and reliably on paper, without the expense or the safety concerns of using mobile computers in environments such as prisons. Capturx provides the U.S. Courts with the most practical, safe, and convenient way to improve the efficiency of pre-trial procedures with immediate access to data captured in the field.
