ADB International Group, Inc.'s (ADBI) 50% Subsidiary, Subsea Oil Technologies, Inc., Continues to Expand Its U.S. Intellectual Property (IP) Portfolio Associated With the Containment of Deepwater Oil Rig Blowouts


MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - December 20, 2010) - ADB International Group, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: ADBI), through its 50% investment in Subsea Oil Technologies, Inc., (Subsea), has expanded its U.S. Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio, which currently includes seven (7) pending U.S. Patent Applications associated with solutions for containing oil spills similar to the 2010 BP/Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The filing of these Patent Applications at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has been entrusted to the law firm of Volpe and Koenig, P.C., which is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Three Patent Applications recently added to Subsea's IP portfolio include:

Patent Application No. 12/966,426 was filed on December 13, 2010 and is titled "Method and Apparatus for Controlling Valves of a Subsea Oil Spill Containment Assembly." This Patent Application is directed towards the control of reinforcement material input valves, flooding valves and/or large diameter high pressure valves of a subsea oil spill containment assembly, either wirelessly or via a wired interface.

Patent Application No. 12/948,236 was filed on November 17, 2010 and is titled "Method and Apparatus for Controlling Mud Flaps of an Oil Spill Containment Assembly." This Patent Application is directed towards the activation of mud flaps located on an outer wall of an oil spill containment assembly to control the depth of the containment assembly as it begins to sink below the ocean floor.

Patent Application No. 12/860,001 was filed on August 20, 2010 and is titled "Method and Apparatus for Containing a Defective Blowout Preventer (BOP) Stack Using BOPstopper Assemblies Having Remotely Controlled Valves and Heating Elements." This Patent Application is directed towards a containment assembly and a valve assembly, each of which comprise a plurality of flooding valves used to submerge the assemblies, and a plurality of reinforcement material input valves used to reinforce the assemblies once they are positioned on an ocean floor. 

Four other Patent Applications in Subsea's IP portfolio include:

1- Patent Application No. 12/847,326 titled "Method and Apparatus for Fastening a Blowout Preventer (BOP) Stack Containment Assembly to an Ocean Floor," filed on July 30, 2010;
2- Patent Application No. 12/842,475 titled "Method and Apparatus for Controlling a Valve Used to Contain Oil and/or Gas Spill Spewing from a Defective Blowout Preventer (BOP) Stack Located on an Ocean Floor," filed on July 23, 2010;
3- Patent Application No. 12/840,907 titled "Contained Top Kill Method and Apparatus for Entombing a Defective Blowout Preventer (BOP) Stack to Stop an Oil and/or Gas Spill," filed on July 21, 2010; and
4- Patent Application No. 12/822,324 titled "Method and Apparatus for Containing an Undersea Oil and/or Gas Spill Caused by a Defective Blowout Preventer (BOP)," filed on June 24, 2010.
