Adder Uses 3M Touch System to Showcase Extension Solution

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - February 24, 2009) - Adder, a leading developer of KVM switches, extenders and KVM over IP solutions, will demonstrate its AdderLink X50 with a remote touch interface using a 32-inch 3M MicroTouch DST-enabled interactive display. Demonstrations are available at Booth #2251 at the Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas, NV on February 25-26. The X50s are the only extenders able to deliver video, audio and full speed USB over a single CAT6 cable. Now, interactive kiosk applications that must not only support audio and video, but also multiple USB devices such as card readers, receipt printers, biometric devices and more can be extended long distances using just one cable.

The AdderLink X50 and X50-MS (multiscreen) video extenders are high performance, professional grade products that deliver industry leading video resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 together with 44.1kHz digital stereo audio over a single CAT6 cable. With a fully transparent 4-port hub built into the receiver, they enable USB peripherals to be extended up to 165 ft (50m) from the play-out device/server.

"Adder decided to use a 3M MicroTouch DST-enabled display to showcase our extension technology due to its speed, accuracy, and durability," said Tim Conway, VP of Adder Corporation. "We appreciate this level of engineering excellence and are incredibly pleased to display the AdderLink X50 and 3M touch technology operating in unison."

The AdderLink X50 and X50-MS allow ultra-smooth fine picture adjustments. With video and audio outputs on the transmitter, the extended computer can be controlled locally when needed. The X50 also provides true Display Data Channel emulation, ensuring all possible resolutions are supported and the video card is always perfectly synchronized with the monitor. Platform independent and desk/shelf/rack mountable, up to 16 units can be housed in 2U of rack space.
