ADESA Launches New U.S. Website

CARMEL, IN--(Marketwired - Apr 23, 2013) - ADESA today announced the launch of the company's new U.S. website, ADESA.com. The website was built on the technology of OPENLANE, which ADESA acquired in late 2011 in order to create an industry-leading suite of online service offerings.

ADESA.com provides wholesale vehicle buyers and sellers a comprehensive end-to-end vehicle remarketing solution. The new website offers vehicle inventory at all ADESA U.S. auction locations as well as fresh, upstream and off-lease inventory available from off-site locations. This results in more choices for customers when sourcing wholesale vehicles. Customers will find a broad mix of vehicles available from dealers and all national consignors.

"When we acquired OPENLANE, our goal was to build a complete marketplace for all of our inventory -- at auction and online. We did what we said we were going to do," said ADESA President and CEO Tom Caruso. "Our teams worked together to deliver a platform that allows our customers to buy and sell cars how, where and when they want: from their lots, in-transit, online and at auction."

ADESA.com is now a more powerful vehicle remarketing platform with significant enhancements to the search capabilities and to the buyer and seller interfaces. Online users will notice several other upgrades:

  • Site navigation and functionality
  • Single sign-on for customers with multiple dealerships
  • Customizable search capabilities
  • Enhanced vehicle details page -- including an integrated condition report; users no longer have to open a new window to view this information
  • New ADESA Market Guide with both at auction and online vehicle pricing history
  • Black Book® integration for evaluating fair market price
  • Enhanced home page with number of vehicles available across all auction channels
  • More convenient mobile site
  • Dedicated help site for ongoing support

"Our technology group worked closely with the ADESA auction operations team to create an exceptional remarketing platform for our customers. I can't thank everyone enough for all of their hard work," said OPENLANE President and CEO Peter Kelly.

"But this is only the beginning -- our customers should expect online enhancements on a regular basis," continued Kelly. "Our culture of constant change has proven successful in delivering technology solutions that benefit our customers and contribute to a better online remarketing experience."

While this launch applies only to the company's U.S. website, customers in Canada will soon experience similar changes to ADESA.ca. The launch of ADESA's new Canadian website is set for later this year.
