Adlib Software and LORENZ Life Sciences Sign OEM Agreement

LORENZ to Bolster e-Regulatory Offering With Adlib ExpressConversion Technology

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 23, 2008) - Drug Information Association (DIA) Annual Meeting -- Adlib Software, a leader in advanced server-based document conversion and publishing software, and LORENZ Life Sciences, the leader in electronic submissions, today announced that they have signed an OEM agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, LORENZ will license and embed Adlib's ExpressConversion technology into future versions of LORENZ's docuRender for MS-Word product.

For life sciences and pharmaceutical companies, time to market is a critical success factor that is put at risk due to poor regulatory publishing practices and non-compliant documentation. Poor conversion of supporting documentation into regulatory acceptable standards requires an organization to spend countless cycles manually reworking documents and conducting quality control. Adlib and LORENZ will eliminate submission quality concerns and automate and streamline regulatory publishing with submission-ready PDFs delivered through LORENZ's docuBridge submission management solution.

"Adlib provides a proven capability to support the challenges faced by today's regulatory affairs professionals by effectively and accurately rendering large volumes of complex documents, which can include international character sets, complex graphics and very specific output requirements in various source formats," said Wolfgang Witzel, president of LORENZ Life Sciences. "By combining this strong and flexible technology with our proven, comprehensive and advanced submission management solution, we will continue to provide solutions tailored to our customers' needs and that meet the industry's most stringent requirements."

Today, many life sciences organizations attempt to build document conversion solutions in-house or use systems that are not suited to the rigors of the FDA eCTD (electronic Common Technical Documents) standard. Adlib and LORENZ can accommodate the large number (into the tens of thousands) and types of documents generated in today's research environments, integrate the solution into an organization's document workflow and provide the quality and compliance to meet any standard or regulation.

"Preparing submission-compliant documents can be a competitive differentiator rather than a painful and costly process for life sciences companies," said Jean Ouellette, chief software architect and co-founder of Adlib. "With Adlib and LORENZ, customers can save critical time in bringing drugs to market by automating the creation of submission-quality PDFs delivered through LORENZ's easy-to-use docuBridge offering. Together, the companies reduce cycles required for document quality control and review and continue to set the bar when it comes to e-Regulatory solutions."
