Adorama TV Reviews New and Improved GoPro Hero4 Black Action Camera

Adorama TV Recently Unveiled a New Episode of Capture the Action With Martin Dorey; Martin Reviewed the GoPro Hero4 Black Action Camera, Highlighting Its Better Shooting Options and Other Improvements; He Also Allowed His Children to Give the GoPro Hero4 a Splash Test

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Dec 1, 2015) - Adorama, one of the world's largest photography, video and audio, imaging and electronics retailers, recently unveiled a new episode of Capture the Action with Martin Dorey via Adorama TV.

In this episode, renowned writer and television presenter Martin Dorey gave a basic overview of the new GoPro Hero4 Black Action Camera. He also allowed his children to give the GoPro Hero4 Black a splash test to show viewers how much fun they could have with this gadget.

Action Cameras: The Adventure Seeker's Best Friend

When it comes to compactness, ease of use, and ruggedness, action cameras are a class of their own. Designed for adventurers and extreme sports lovers, action cameras can be attached to helmets, cars, and other objects -- enabling thrill seekers to capture their most dynamic moments.

Despite their small size, action cameras are armed with powerful lenses and offer high-definition video and photography using a wide-angle fish-eye perspective. Offering dramatic POV (point of view) footage, action cameras have been used by production companies to capture footage that would be impossible with regular video cameras.

GoPro Hero4 Black Offers Better Shooting Options and Other Improvements

Martin noted that the GoPro Hero4 Black looks very similar to the Hero3 and Hero3+, as they have the same box shape and dimensions. The GoPro Hero4 Black is encased in a standard waterproof housing and offers many of the same features as its predecessors. However, once you start using the camera, you'll notice significant improvements on the standard Hero design.

The GoPro Hero4 Black has a slightly larger screen, and the camera status and Wi-Fi lights (which were once in the front) are now two small illuminated slits positioned to the left of the LED screen. The battery compartment has been redesigned and appears to be better engineered.

According to Martin, the real improvements on the GoPro Hero4 Black are interior rather than exterior. "We're talking about 4K video shooting capability at 30, 25, and 24 [frames per second], which is something my Hero3+ could never do. It will shoot at 24 frames per second in 4K SuperView. It will shoot up to 120 frames per second at 1080 resolution, and a whopping 240 at 720, which is something... that my Hero3+ could never do. Across the board, the shooting options are much improved," noted Martin.

When it comes to capturing fleeting moments, the GoPro Hero4 Black misses nothing. It can shoot stills at 12 megapixels, take bursts of up to 30 frames per second, and take time lapses with shots between 0.5 seconds and 60 seconds. Quick capture is available with one press of the shutter.

The GoPro Hero4 Black can perform all the looping and simultaneous photo and video shooting that is expected of this line of action cameras. The GoPro Hero4 Black is also ideal for night lapse shooting.
