Seminars

  • November 3, 2014: Calibrating your HD Display Monitor with Sam Berland
    In this two-part seminar, Sam Berland, owner/partner of Play It Again Sam's Video Productions, will demonstrate how to calibrate output monitors on EDL workstations and flat screen monitors on a home theater system, and how to use monitors to adjust overall video and color levels.

  • November 4, 2014: Mobile Lighting for Mobile Devices with Michael Artsis
    Five-time Emmy award-winning anchor, reporter and video journalist Michael Artsis will discuss accessories that provide mobile video with the best lighting for any scenario. This seminar will be comprised of three progressive sessions.

  • November 10, 2014: Getting Off AUTO with George McKenzie
    Learn to use and control your camera's settings. Attendees should bring their cameras so they can follow along. This seminar will consist of three repeating sessions.

  • November 12, 2014: Shooting from the Hip with John Bentham
    Award-winning portrait and documentary photographer John Bentham will address the common issues photographers face when shooting quickly and unobtrusively, and present a digital slide show of his work. This seminar will be two repeated sessions.

  • November 16, 2014: The Warbler Guide: Overlooked ID Points in Identifying Warblers
    Birder Tom Stephenson will discuss many often overlooked ID points of warblers, and how to address the challenges of photographing small birds. This seminar will be two separate sessions.

  • November 30, 2014: The 365 Project with Kevin Case
    One of the most rewarding challenges any photographer can take on is to post online one photo a day for a year. In this session, NYC-based photographer Kevin Case will discuss his own 365 project. This seminar will be two repeated sessions.

  • November 3, 2014: TASCAM
    TASCAM representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the newest handheld and DSLR recorders, and assist attendees in choosing the right recorder for their needs.

  • November 4, 2014: Bose
    Bose, the most respected name in sound, will show off its newest headphones, Bluetooth speakers and Wi-Fi systems at this special vendor day. Attendees can enter for a chance to win Bose products.

  • November 5, 2014: Photoflex and Hoodman Shooting Solutions
    Photoflex and Hoodman accessories are indispensible additions to any photographer's bag. Vendor representative Steven Rossi will be available during this event to answer any questions regarding photography solutions.

OnSet Days

  • November 6, 2014: Instant Cameras and Techniques. Analog Lives!
    Photographer, director and DP Daniel Norton will show several types of cameras and instant film emulsions along with some advanced techniques. Throughout the day, Norton will introduce attendees to cameras with full manual control as well as discuss techniques to help shooters get better results from fully automatic cameras.
  • November 13, 2014: Environmental Food Videography
    Learn how to create amazingly simple yet mouth-watering food videos anywhere! Daniel Norton will show attendees how to create videos with a news magazine quality using just a few simple lights coupled with a small camera or smartphone.
