ADSI Receives $1.5 Million Follow-on Order for Crew Protection Kits From U.S. Army TACOM

HICKSVILLE, NY--(Marketwire - December 22, 2008) - American Defense Systems, Inc. ("ADSI") (AMEX: EAG), a leading provider of advanced transparent and opaque armor, architectural hardening and security products for Defense and Homeland Security, reported the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) has submitted a follow-on order for Crew Protection Kits (CPK) to be installed on construction vehicles currently deployed overseas.

The order expands upon an existing multi-vehicle contract and is valued at approximately $1.5 million. ADSI plans to deliver the order to TACOM around mid first quarter 2009. This order brings the total value of TACOM CPK related orders placed in the current fourth quarter to more than $4.4 million.

"We continue to see a steady stream of orders from the U.S. Army to provide protective technology to construction vehicles in support of our brave military service personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan," said ADSI's chief executive officer, Anthony J. Piscitelli. "We anticipate further contract expansion from TACOM in 2009."

ADSI's CPKs are custom designed and fitted to offer a maximum amount of security for the operator. The CPK features windows of fully transparent armor, opaque armor siding that has been ATC Aberdeen tested and approved to meet all Operation Iraqi Freedom requirements, a patent-pending combat lock, tool-less emergency egress windows, fortified door hinges and an integrated crew comfort system. The CPKs are modular and can be applied to the vehicle either stateside or in theater. ADSI employs Field Service Representatives (FSRs) that are on the ground in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait to train our soldiers on the proper installation techniques and offer on-going expertise and assistance.
