Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. Reports Initial Shipments of PLI Batteries for Sanitation Trucks for 2008 Olympics

HARBIN, CHINA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 24, 2007 -- Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: ABAT), a developer and manufacturer of rechargeable Polymer-Lithium-Ion ("PLI") batteries, announced today that on May 21, 2007 it delivered the first batch of 200 sets of battery cell packs under its previously announced contract with Beijing Guoqiang Global Technology Development Co., Ltd. ("BGTDC") to supply a total of 3,000 sets of PLI battery cell packs for use in 3,000 electric garbage trucks specially designed for the 2008 Olympics Games. This contract when fully executed is worth RMB 81,000,000 or about $10,000,000. The specific battery shipped is the ABAT 100AH/set, model number 240190. The second shipment under this contract is scheduled for June 15, with the balance of this order delivered in 15-day increments until completion.

Separately ABAT announced that it has begun shipping its first batch of portable recharging units to its sales agent in the United States. The shipment includes four models: CG101-L (solar recharger); CG101-LQ (solar recharger); G301 (intelligent digital mobile external power supply); and M628 (Notebook external power supply).
