Advanced Practice Strategies Expands Leadership Team

Poised for Continued Growth, Company Creates Two New Executive Roles

BOSTON, MA --(Marketwired - May 15, 2013) - Advanced Practice Strategies (APS) announced today the expansion of its senior leadership team. APS accelerates high reliability in healthcare delivery by measuring and improving clinician knowledge and judgment.

The company's latest innovation, GNOSIS™, which was delivered to market early this year, is now supporting patient safety improvement efforts at 90 academic and community hospitals throughout the country. Overall, APS products have been deployed in over one thousand hospitals to date and the company estimates it reduces patient risk across 20% of the US healthcare delivery system. Through the use of the APS product line, health systems and clinicians are able to reduce the cost of medical malpractice risk while patients experience a reduction in the risk of injury.

To support its rapid growth and ensure high customer satisfaction, APS has added two executive roles as part of the leadership team:

  • Vice President, Client Services:
Anders J. Engen joined APS in a newly created role dedicated to client services. As Vice President, Client Services, he will lead this quickly growing function to ensure excellence in customer implementation and support. Anders has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare delivery system and healthcare IT operations, focusing on service implementation, client services, and product management. This includes more than ten years with athenahealth, based in Watertown, MA.

  • Vice President, Product Management:
Karen Budd joined APS as Vice President, Product Management. Karen brings over twenty years of experience in the healthcare industry in the areas of data analytics, population health management, and managed care. Prior to APS, Karen most recently served as Vice President, Provider Products at Health Dialog, where she led the development of a new product line to support Patient-Centered Medical Homes and Accountable Care Organizations.

"We are thrilled to welcome Karen and Anders to our senior leadership team," said Matthew Hanis, Vice President, Sales, APS. "GNOSIS is a groundbreaking approach to measuring, addressing and, most importantly, improving healthcare delivery. Building out our executive team reflects our growth and success to date as well as our preparation for what's ahead.   We are confident that we have the right people in place to drive the company forward."
