Advantest VOICE 2015 Conference to Feature New Authors, New Products and More Than 100 Technical Papers

Global Adventurer Paul Deegan to Present Inspirational Keynote

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 5, 2015) - VOICE, the annual developer conference hosted by leading semiconductor test equipment supplier Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857) (NYSE: ATE), will once again reach new milestones and present a strong technical program in 2015. VOICE will feature more than 100 technical papers presented in two locations -- May 12-13 in Silicon Valley, California at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara in Silicon Valley, and May 22 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Pudong Century Park in Shanghai, China, the first international location for VOICE. In addition to the technical presentations, VOICE 2015 will include keynote speakers, partners' innovation expos, networking events and interactive discussion sessions for users of the V93000 and T2000 SoC test platforms as well as Advantest handlers and test cell solutions, offering extensive learning and networking opportunities for all attendees.

The VOICE 2015 technical program will feature Advantest customers, partners and employees from 14 countries presenting their insights and best practices. Fifty-six new VOICE authors, 75 percent of whom are Advantest customers, and authors from India and France will participate for the first time. Technical topics will include device specific testing, hardware design and integration, improving throughput, reducing time-to-market, new hardware/software test solutions, test methodologies, and hot, timely topics in the ATE industry. At the Silicon Valley event, additional topics will be spotlighted in technical kiosks staffed by Advantest R&D, industry experts and supplier technologists. This year, the kiosks will highlight a record number of new Advantest products.

On May 13, global adventurer and award-winning author Paul Deegan will present an inspirational keynote address, "Breathless: Embracing Uncertainty at 29,000 Feet," at VOICE 2015 in Silicon Valley. Deegan was climbing on Mount Everest in the spring of 1996 when a storm struck that proved to be one of the worst catastrophes in the history of the world's highest mountain. Deegan vowed never to return. Eight years later, he broke his promise and made a final attempt to fulfill his lifetime ambition to reach "the top of the world." In his keynote, Deegan will reveal whether or not he was successful and what he learned along the way. His inspiring story will show how he struggled to conquer the self-doubt that overwhelmed him as a result of his experience in the storm and its aftermath. Additionally, he will describe how a rocking chair, a reluctant businessman and the principle of one percent helped steer him back to Everest.

Deegan began his expedition career at the age of 18 when he co-led a 47 strong team to clean up 35 years of trash that had accumulated at the foot of Everest. Turning his back on a promising career in refuse collection, he has gone on to climb and trek on five continents. Away from Everest, Deegan has worked at a scientific research station on the frozen skin of the Arctic Ocean, met indigenous people on the rarely visited island of Car Nicobar, and hiked along a frozen river in a gorge deeper than the Grand Canyon to reach an ancient Himalayan kingdom.

Continuing the VOICE tradition of providing high-quality, in-depth technical training, Advantest will again offer a hands-on Workshop Day on Thursday, May 14 at Advantest U.S. headquarters in San Jose, California. The Workshop sessions will include one-on-one time with Advantest technology experts covering full-day topics such as "Power Integrity & Signal Integrity: How to Design Optimum DUT Board Power Down for Extremely High Current Requirements (UHC4)," "Significant Reduction in Test Development Time on the V93000 with Smart RDI (Rapid Development Interface)," C++/UTM/Eclipse, tools, g++/SmartCalc/code practices and a protocol aware software tutorial, as well as half-day topics such as V93000 concurrent test framework and V93000 demodulation tools.
