ADVISORY: National Impaired Driving Awareness Drive Launch Tuesday

MADD Canada's National Impaired Driving Awareness Drive to be Launched Tuesday at Toronto Police Service Headquarters -- Canadians will be Urged to Display Red Ribbons thru Holidays Attention: City Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO --(CCNMatthews - Oct. 31, 2005) - Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada) will launch its annual national public awareness campaign for sober driving at Toronto Police Service Headquarters this week. Canadians will be urged to display a red ribbon and join in the fight against impaired driving through the holiday season -- and throughout the calendar year.

Karen Dunham, MADD Canada's National President, will be joined at the national launch ceremonies by Ontario Government Ministers, senior Toronto police officers, and a host of community leaders for the 2005 Project Red Ribbon campaign. The public and media is welcomed to attend and participate in the event.

WHAT: 2005 Project Red Ribbon -- Launch Ceremonies and Event

WHEN: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1

WHERE: Toronto Police Service Headquarters at 40 College Street - Toronto (Ceremonies will begin in HQ's main foyer.)

Media Note: The ceremonies and presentations will take no more than one hour. The ceremonies will include three to four excellent photo opportunities. MADD Canada and TPS spokespersons (as well as other distinguished guests from the Ontario Government and the City) will be available after the ceremonies for interviews and further photos.
