ADVISORY: University of Calgary launches Institutional Sustainability Strategy

Comprehensive approach includes new academic program

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - February 23, 2016) -  Members of the media are invited to the University of Calgary's launch of a new institutional sustainability strategy that for the first time will incorporate an academic framework to advance education and research for sustainability. The launch will include a significant new academic program for students.

WHAT: Institutional Sustainability Launch

WHEN: Wednesday, February 24 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. (speakers begin at 12 p.m., media availability to start at 12:30 p.m.)

WHERE: Main lobby of the EEEL Building (See campus and parking maps)

SPEAKERS: Elizabeth Cannon, president and vice-chancellor; Joanne Perdue, chief sustainability officer; Lauren Arthur, student co-op community coordinator with the sustainability office

A media availability will follow the official program at 12:30 p.m. with Joanne Perdue and Lauren Arthur available to speak to reporters.
