A+E Networks Taps Freewheel to Monetize Mobile Video Platforms

FreeWheel's Monetization Rights Management® System to Manage Advertising for Award-Winning TV Programming for Mobile Devices

SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 9, 2012) - A+E Networks announced today that it has signed a new agreement with video technology company FreeWheel to deploy its Monetization Rights Management® (MRM) system across all of the network's mobile properties. FreeWheel's infrastructure will enable A+E Networks to capitalize on its exponential audience growth on mobile by managing advertising to monetize its premium television content made available through iOS smartphones and tablets.

FreeWheel's MRM technology arms A+E Networks with powerful ad management tools that allows their syndicated content to more closely replicate linear television ad loads. A+E Networks will be able to manage ad sales rights across their mobile Web sites and applications branded with distribution partners, forecast advertising inventory across devices, deliver yield-optimized ads and monitor campaign performance on behalf of its advertisers and partners. A+E Networks will also be able to manage ad loads within specific pods of commercial breaks, optimizing advertisements based on criteria such as highest CPM and frequency.
