AEN to Premiere Emergency Broadcast Technology at the Florida Governor's Hurricane Conference

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - May 13, 2008) - America's Emergency Network (AEN) will premiere a final working version of its proprietary technology at the Florida Governor's Hurricane Conference to be held at the Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center beginning Wednesday, May 14, 2008. At its booth in the Exhibition Hall, AEN will demonstrate how emergency managers and other public officials will be able to instantly send video news briefings and critical text messages to the public and the media during hurricanes, earthquakes, or any local emergency using its streaming video system and central database.

The video from a live camera at the AEN booth will be streamed to a special web page, and simultaneously the video will be displayed in high-resolution. The high-resolution feed is designed to be aired by television stations. The combination of the internet and high-resolution streaming system will allow emergency officials to send their news briefings directly to the public as well as to radio and TV stations instantly. No longer will news crews have to travel to the emergency operations centers or city halls before the information can be disseminated.

This live demonstration of the AEN technology at the Florida conference will be soon followed up by the deployment of the system in select emergency operations centers in the State of Florida.

America's Emergency Network is designed to be deployed in emergency centers and city halls in communities of any size, from the smallest communities to the largest counties in the United States. State and federal agencies can use the system to widely and inexpensively disseminate their message as well. The satellite-based system will continue to work after a disaster when terrestrial phone lines, cell towers and internet systems have been knocked out.

Bryan Norcross, AEN's President and CEO, and Max Mayfield, AEN's Senior Executive Vice President - Government Relations, will hold a press conference to be held in the Media Room at the Convention Center at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 14 and will be available for questioning following the news conference and in the booth in Exhibition Hall. The press conference will be held in conjunction with ALERT FM, one of AEN's strategic partners, which is debuting an FM-based alerting system in South Florida. The exhibition hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm on Wednesday, May 14 and 8:00 am - 1:30 pm on Thursday, May 15.
