AEP Networks and Vados Systems Create Alliance for Deployable Communications Solution

LONDON -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 14, 2007 -- AEP Networks, the leader in policy-based networking, and Vados Systems, a provider of Converged Integrated Solutions, announce a new alliance to further develop the Secure Personal Remote Communications (SPRC) capability, a small deployable communications pack. The companies have combined their technologies and domain experience in secure networking to create an integrated solution for remote access.

Based on the highly acclaimed AEP Net Remote product, with encryption approved to Enhanced Grade (Confidential), and Vados Systems' proven robust and flexible vadEDGE platform, the SPRC has been designed and developed based on the exacting requirements of the UK Public Sector.

Said Peter van de Geest, CEO of Vados Systems, "The SPRC is an extremely flexible Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS), airline cabin-friendly deployable communications solution, designed for business, governments and commercial organisations that have a growing need for quick deployable, reliable and secure voice and data communications capability."

The SPRC utilises existing public infrastructures or satellite communications links and has been designed to support a wide range of protocols over many different types of physical interfaces, including xDSL, PSTN, ISDN, GSM, GPRS and satellite interfaces. The SPRC is particularly suited for emergencies or when deploying staff to destinations where conventional communications are not available or where secure communications are required to augment existing telecoms infrastructures.

"The ability to carry all services across so many different interfaces makes it extremely flexible and resilient," says Pat Donnellan, CEO of AEP Networks. "Because of the ease of use and plug-and-play technology, together with our CESG Enhanced Grade encryption, the SPRC is tremendously secure and easy to use."

The companies plan to further integrate their products and technologies to develop secure remote access solutions at various cryptographic protection levels designed for European and Asian markets, and will announce a solution rollout over the next 6 months.
