Aequus Closes Financing for Gross Proceeds of C$1,237,500

Aequus Pharmaceuticals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:AQS) (OTCQB:AQSZF) ("Aequus" or the "Company"), a specialty pharmaceutical company with a focus on developing, advancing and promoting differentiated products, is pleased to announce that it has closed its previously announced offering (the "Offering") of common shares of the Company (the "Shares"). The Offering was made through Richardson GMP Limited and consisted of 2,475,000 Shares sold at a price of C$0.50 per Share, for aggregate gross proceeds of C$1,237,500. Aequus intends to use the net proceeds of the Offering for (i) research and development activities in respect of Aequus' lead product candidate, AQS-1301 (a once-weekly, transdermal application for aripiprazole); and (ii) general working capital purposes.

The securities described above were offered pursuant to a prospectus supplement filed on October 21, 2015 to a corresponding base shelf prospectus dated June 30, 2015, filed with the securities regulatory authorities in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
