Aer Lingus' Customers Welcomed Onboard With Bottled Water

MELVILLE, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 23, 2006 -- Since Friday, passengers on all Aer Lingus flights from the United States to Ireland have been greeted with a 1/2 litre bottle of water waiting for them on their seat.

"While safety will always be our first priority, customer comfort and a friendly welcome should never be forgotten," said Jack Foley Executive Vice President North America. "The new security processes are critically important for overall safety. If we can ease the hassle just a bit by having water ready for each customer then the restriction on carrying liquids becomes a bit easier to take."

Aer Lingus, Ireland's National Airline, flies to Ireland from New York, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles with connecting service to Europe. With each seat having a 1/2 litre bottle of water, Aer Lingus estimates distributing over 2,200 bottles of this "Welcome Water" per night from the U.S.

"We will continue to review all aspects of the travel environment and where possible alleviate the added burden of necessary airport activity," Jack Foley continued. "Fall is a great time to visit or do business in Ireland and Aer Lingus and the Emerald Isle will continue to extend the welcome mat to its North American friends." Aer Lingus is operating a full transatlantic schedule and connecting service to the United Kingdom and over 45 destinations across Continental Europe.

Aer Lingus will continue to keep its customers informed of revised security guidelines and service developments through its website
