Aeroports de Montreal Welcomes WOW Air, the First Ultra-Low-Cost Carrier to Serve YUL

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 1, 2015) - Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) is pleased to confirm that ultra-low-cost carrier WOW Air will begin flying out of Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) on 12 May 2016. The Iceland-based scheduled carrier will operate flights between Montréal and Reykjavik four times a week.

"WOW Air will be a very interesting option for our passengers, who will enjoy very attractive fares for flights to Iceland and Europe," said James C. Cherry, President and Chief Executive Officer of ADM, adding: "Likewise, for WOW passengers flying from Europe, Montréal-Trudeau will prove to be a gateway with many advantages."

WOW Air's Montréal-Reykjavik service will use 200-seat Airbus A321 aircraft. The carrier's network includes some 20 European cities, including Berlin and Copenhagen.

"I am particularly pleased to be announcing Montréal as a destination today, given that I lived in the city for nearly 10 years and that Icelanders have a definite fondness for Canadians. WOW Air is proud to offer the cheapest fares to Iceland, and we do it with a smile and memorable service," said Skúli Mogensen, owner and Chief Executive Officer of WOW Air.
