AeroScout and Four Rivers Software Systems Provide Integrated RTLS and Maintenance Management Solution to Help Hospitals Improve Operations

WellSpan Health Uses Solution to More Efficiently Manage and Maintain Its Inventory of Medical Equipment

SAN ANTONIO, TX--(Marketwire - Jun 23, 2011) - AAMI 2011 Conference -- AeroScout, the leading provider of Unified Asset Visibility solutions for the healthcare industry, and Four Rivers Software Systems, which provides comprehensive maintenance management software solutions (CMMS), today announced that they are now providing hospitals with an integrated Real-Time Location System (RTLS) solution. The solution incorporates Four Rivers' Total Maintenance System (TMS) to manage capital equipment inventories and track and distribute the associated maintenance activities, with AeroScout's Wi-Fi RFID Asset Management solution for tracking the real-time location, status and condition of medical equipment. The combination helps healthcare organizations more efficiently manage their inventory of equipment, which improves asset utilization and streamlines equipment maintenance and recalls, and also leads to enhanced patient satisfaction and care.

"Hospitals rely on many different types of mobile medical assets. Understanding where items are located throughout the facility is critical to their proper use, cleaning and overall maintenance," said Henry Wilde, CEO at Four Rivers Software Systems. "Adding AeroScout's market leading real-time location information to our solutions improves the business processes of our joint customers."

WellSpan Health's York Hospital uses the combined solution to find the current location of equipment from within their TMS OnSite Professional application. Real-time location updates provided by AeroScout appear in the asset location field and TMS users are able to view the current location of individual assets on a map. For example, in the event of a safety recall, the staff is able to quickly locate and recover affected equipment. This type of visibility helps save time and improves hospitals' ability to quickly service equipment for patients.

"The integration of AeroScout and Four Rivers provides even greater efficiencies beyond what we have already experienced with their individual solutions," said Chad Noll, Manager of Biomedical Engineering at WellSpan Health. "Now my team can find equipment quickly when they need it, which saves time and allows them to do their jobs more effectively."

AeroScout is a market leader in RTLS solutions for healthcare organizations. Its MobileView software enables hospital staff to search for and manage medical equipment and other assets, and includes an open architecture for integration with a wide range of hospital applications. By leveraging a hospital's existing Wi-Fi network, AeroScout provides a cost-effective way to track the location, status and condition of patients, staff and critical items such as infusion pumps and specialty beds.

"Hospitals worldwide face the same challenges trying to manage, maintain and optimize a large inventory of medical equipment which is constantly being moved from place to place. Knowing where your equipment is at all times increases efficiency and improves overall productivity," said Joel Cook, Director of Healthcare Solutions at AeroScout. "Working with Four Rivers, we're helping customers further automate and streamline their IT systems, business processes and essential operations."
