AeroScout Named Category Leader for Healthcare RTLS in Recent Best in KLAS Awards

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 8, 2012) -

  • In Separate KLAS Study of 150 RTLS Customers, AeroScout Also Ranked Highest Among Solution Providers
  • AeroScout Led in 23 of the 25 Customer Satisfaction Metrics
  • Strong ROI Reported across the Market

AeroScout® today announced that it was named the Real-Time Location System (RTLS) category leader in the prestigious 2011 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Services report released in December by KLAS®. AeroScout was selected based on performance scores compiled from healthcare providers at hospitals and IDNs throughout the United States and Canada. In the study, AeroScout received an overall score of 91.1 out of 100 -- the highest rating in the RTLS category. Moreover, for the second year in a row, 100 percent of AeroScout customers that responded to the survey said they would purchase AeroScout again.

"Since 1998, KLAS has been committed to helping healthcare providers make decisions based on candid peer feedback," said Adam Gale, President of KLAS. "Best in KLAS rankings mark those vendors who best keep their promises in their market segments for offering a combination of superior products, strong service and high customer value."

The Best in KLAS report provides a summary of performance ratings gathered over 12 months for healthcare IT software and services vendors in 111 market segments. A category leader designation is awarded to products and firms that are rated the highest in select market segments. Each category also includes a listing of vendor products ranked according to their performance scores.

A separate KLAS study also released in December, RTLS 2011: Maximizing the ROI, surveyed over 150 healthcare RTLS customers. In this report, AeroScout's Wi-Fi-based solutions received the highest RTLS vendor / product ranking and led in 23 out of the 25 KLAS indicators. Additionally, AeroScout's customers reported the broadest deployment of RTLS in terms of hospital-wide and multi-facility use, and its customers had the highest satisfaction with vendor-provided analytics tools.

In answering the question, "Is there an ROI in RTLS?" the authors of the report concluded decisively, "Yes. Provider after provider indicated seeing improvement in operational efficiency with RTLS, whether using the technology for temperature monitoring, asset tracking or in more complex use cases."

"The latest KLAS studies further validate what our customers have been reporting for years -- that RTLS has a very strong impact on hospital operations and quality of patient care," said Scott McFarland, General Manager of Healthcare at AeroScout. "We are proud of our top position in both of the recent KLAS reports -- at AeroScout, customer satisfaction and customer value are our highest priorities."
