Aesculap's S4 Element® MIS System Awarded Best New Technology for Minimally Invasive Spine Care

CENTER VALLEY, PA--(Marketwired - December 09, 2014) - Aesculap Implant Systems' latest spinal technology, the S4 Element® MIS System, was recently named 2014's Best New Technology for Minimally Invasive Spine Care by Orthopedics This Week. The S4 Element MIS was selected by a distinguished panel of surgeon judges as a Best New Technology in Minimally Invasive Spine Care on the basis of its originality, clinical relevance, and likelihood of improving patient outcomes. The Best New Spine Technology Awards are presented annually in five categories of spine care to recognize great talent and advancement in this field.

The S4 Element MIS System is the only posterior lumbar pedicle screw fixation system to utilize endoscope technology to gain direct visualization, providing the advantages of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) with enhanced view of the surgical site. To further differentiate S4 Element MIS, the system offers an industry leading rescue technique and instrumentation designed to minimize risk of open conversion during MIS. S4 Element is intended for anterior/anterolateral and posterior, non-cervical pedicle and non-pedicle fixation.
