Aether Things Debuts Cone, a Music Player That Makes It Simple to Hear What You Love

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 4, 2014) - Aether Things (Aether) formally launches today. Aether builds beautiful products that seamlessly integrate hardware, software and services to make everyday life nicer.

Aether's first product, Cone, is a thinking music player that learns what you like and plays what you love, creating a personalized music experience that gets better over time. Cone will be available in Spring/Summer 2014 for $399 on Aether.com.

"The world is filled with new devices that do amazing things, yet the more you own, the harder you have to work to connect, manage and troubleshoot them," said Duncan Lamb, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Aether. "At Aether, we decided to make products and experiences that work harder so you don't have to. Our ultimate goal is simple -- to make everyday life nicer through beautifully thought-out products."

Aether Cone

Aether Cone makes music simple: It learns what you like to listen to, when and where you like to listen to it, and it puts all that behind something natural -- a dial. Turn the dial and it instantly plays music you'll love, as well as podcasts and Internet radio.

"The world of music offers so much choice and capability that it can be overwhelming and difficult to simply enjoy listening," said Ben Fullerton, Head of Design at Aether. "Cone makes it easy to hear something great by applying Aether's machine learning software across music and content services in order to learn what you like and play what you love. Cone is the first music player to integrate hardware, software and services to create a new kind of listening experience."

Listening With Cone

  • A player with personality, right out of the box. Open the app, turn the dial and Cone just works, filling any room with incredible sound.
  • The right song at the right time. Cone listens, learns and improves what it's playing based on how you use it.
  • Simple to use. Turn the dial to change the song or turn it again to hear something completely different.
  • It listens to you. Know what you want to hear? Just ask Cone.
  • Play anything. It comes with music, podcasts and Internet radio and helps you find new music based on your personal taste.
  • Throughout your home. Cone is wireless, playing music anywhere you want it and always within reach.
  • More to come. Cone is packed with technology, so you can expect new features that make life even nicer down the road.

The player is offered in a stunning black/copper design at launch with additional color combinations being introduced later in 2014. To join the reservation list for Cone, please visit Aether.com/Reserve.
