Affordable Resort Experiences and 'Staycation' Packages Make Summer Surprisingly Cool in Greater Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - June 10, 2008) - Summer is the season of opportunity at Greater Phoenix's luxury resorts, where rates are at the lowest they'll be all year, allowing tourists and locals alike the chance to experience a resort they've always wanted to visit.

To help would-be travelers sort through these resort specials, the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau and its resort partners produced "SummerScapes," a 40-page, fill-color newspaper insert that was included in recent additions of The Arizona Republic and Arizona Daily Star. The Greater Phoenix CVB also is posting online flash banner ads in California feeder markets such as Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco that drive viewers to enter a summer sweepstakes at

"The goal of our summer marketing initiative is twofold," explains Melissa Gogel, Marketing Director at the Greater Phoenix CVB. "We like to remind locals that they don't have to leave town to enjoy world-class luxury and amenities, and we also aim to raise awareness amongst our drive-market neighbors in California who might not have had the time or money to come in peak season that there is no time like the present to visit Phoenix."
