After Three Decades, Family Chooses to Sell 579-Acre Venture Farms and Home at Absolute Auction

Ske and Jody Radomske Have Chosen to Sell the 579-Acre Venture Farms, Which Includes Their Equestrian Facilities, Organic Farms and Their Home, at an Absolute Auction With No Minimums and No Reserves Through J. P. King Auction Company

ELLENSBURG, WA--(Marketwired - Aug 20, 2013) - A 579-acre property with a ranch-style estate, located in Ellensburg, Wash., will sell at an absolute auction with no minimums and no reserves. The property will be offered in 16 tracts or as an entirety on the September 12 auction that will be conducted by J. P. King Auction Company.

Harland "Ske" Radomske and his wife, Jody, lived and worked in Seattle, when Ske had a revelation that would change his future for the next three decades.

"I wanted to be a cowboy," he said. "I wanted to live the country cowboy's lifestyle, but I also had a business in Seattle to run. There are a lot of ranches in north central Washington, but they're a five- or six-hour drive to Seattle."

Knowing that commute was impractical, he searched for a more workable way to simultaneously be a cowboy at home and run his construction business in Seattle. He found that answer in a 579-acre property that he turned into an organic farm, a cattle ranch, a family home and an equestrian property. He and Jody have lived at Venture Farms their entire 27-year marriage, where they raised their three children and shaped their lives around the country atmosphere Ske fell in love with 33 years ago.

Now irrigated and with easy access to I-90 -- the property is located right between Spokane and Seattle -- the Radomskes have established a foundation for anyone wanting to invest in either the cattle, organic farming or equestrian lifestyle.

In just a few years, they built several improvements on the property, including a 2,200-foot paved air strip and hangar that Ske used for his daily commutes to Seattle, his ideal way of bringing the cowboy lifestyle to the city. Other improvements include an office, a mare motel, a 180x200 indoor equestrian facility, breeding barn, cattle corrals and facilities, a four-bedroom ranch home and three caretaker homes.

Both Ske and Jody, along with two of their three children, went on to become high achievers in the western equestrian world. He and his youngest daughter were elected to the National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame, and his daughter earned four world titles and served as the 2008 National High School Rodeo President. Mrs. Radomske and their son also hold many northwest competition titles.

While the family dedicated much of their time to nurturing the equestrian aspect of the property, they also created organic pastures and bought and sold cattle.

"Fundamentally, a lot of the ground could be farmed if you wanted to be a farmer. If you want to be a cattle rancher, we have it as high end as any facility in the area. If you just want to raise your family in a good school district in the country, you can do that too," Mr. Radomske said. "It's one of the last and largest working ranch properties in the Kittitas Valley. Between the airport and the proximity to Seattle, there's no way to duplicate the lifestyle we have here. These are the things you just don't find everywhere."

The property will be offered in 16 parcels and can be bought as individual, 20-acre parcels, as a combination of several parcels or as an entirety. Also located 20 minutes from the Columbia River, Venture Farms provides recreational opportunity that extends far beyond the borders of the property. The Colockum Wildlife Area is 10 minutes to the north. Best known for being among the state's most popular snowmobile areas, it is also known for its elk hunting, camping, creek facing and outdoor recreation areas.

The auction will take place on Thursday, September 12 at 11 a.m. at the property, located at 1850 Venture Road in Ellensburg. Property previews will be available from August 31 to September 11, and seller financing will be offered for qualified buyers. For additional information, individuals may contact J. P.
