AfterCollege Achieves Minority Business Enterprise Certification

AfterCollege Becomes Certified as a Minority Business Enterprise Through the National Minority Supplier Development Council

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 18, 2008) - AfterCollege, Inc., the largest career network for college students and alumni, today announced that it has been granted Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and by its affiliate, the Northern California Supplier Development Council (NCSDC). The NMSDC is a national organization made up of 39 regional councils with a combined constituency of over 3,600 corporate members and 16,500 certified MBE suppliers. Its mission is to facilitate access to contracting opportunities between certified MBEs and corporate and public purchasers. Employers that are members of the NMSDC will benefit from AfterCollege's college recruiting and branding services while also supporting minority business initiatives.

AfterCollege connects employers with college and alumni through a network of over 17,000 academic departments and student groups. Via AfterCollege, employers can post their jobs and internships to selected groups of job seekers at specific college campuses, promote and track the attendance of their on-campus recruiting events, and conduct branding campaigns by sponsoring specific AfterCollege-powered job and alumni sites at academic departments and groups. Alumni and students ranging from sophomores to PhDs benefit by receiving relevant jobs and announcements, which are targeted by school, discipline, and academic degree.

"AfterCollege is happy to support employers in their diversity initiatives through our MBE certification with the National Minority Supplier Development Council," said Roberto Angulo, CEO of AfterCollege. Employers in areas such as technology, healthcare, life science, finance, and engineering use AfterCollege for their college recruiting and branding. "AfterCollege allows us to target nursing students and alumni with efficiency and precision," said Lydia Ostermeier, MSN, RN, CHCR, Director of Nurse Recruitment, Retention and Workforce Development at Clarian Health. "As a result we are able to connect with candidates from a broad and diverse range of specialties within our target disciplines and geographic areas."
