AfterCollege Announces Addition of MediaNews Group to Its Newspaper Partner Program

Nation's Fourth Largest Newspaper Publishing Company Is the Latest to Join the AfterCollege Newspaper Partner Program

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 12, 2007 -- AfterCollege, Inc. (www.aftercollege.com), the nation's largest career network specializing in recruitment at the college level, today announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with MediaNews Group (www.medianewsgroup.com), adding the fourth largest newspaper publisher in the country to its growing list of newspaper partners.

Newspapers partnering with AfterCollege are able to offer their advertisers targeted access to the college market for their part-time jobs, internships and full-time entry-level positions. AfterCollege features newspaper advertisers' ads on relevant college and university academic departments and student groups throughout the AfterCollege network (www.aftercollege.com/inventory). AfterCollege's proprietary network and job distribution technology translate into more relevant job content for job seekers and into more qualified applicants for employers. Engineering students, for example, receive engineering jobs directly through their academic department; nursing students receive relevant nursing opportunities through their school, as do students and recent graduates in a variety of disciplines. All job opportunities are also available on the aftercollege.com website where they are searchable by geographic region, discipline and job category.

Roberto Angulo, CEO of AfterCollege, said, "We look forward to helping employers who advertise with MediaNews Group newspapers to gain a high level of exposure to the college market. We have worked diligently to create the most robust network of colleges and universities in the industry and we are pleased to align ourselves with MediaNews Group in connecting employers with relevant candidates."

MediaNews Group Interactive's President, Eric Grilly, said, "AfterCollege will allow our newspapers to offer broad, yet targeted access to a highly sought-after demographic." Grilly added, "Our partnership with AfterCollege enables our newspapers to offer an important component for employers wanting to get in front of top candidates at the local and national level. We look forward to a prosperous relationship."

The addition of MediaNews Group's daily newspapers to the program will create a partnership that spans key metropolitan areas throughout the country. The San Jose Mercury News was the first newspaper in the MediaNews Group family to go live with the AfterCollege network on January 23rd.
