AGENDA17 Conference Recognizes Top 50 Organizations that are Excelling in Digital Transformation

Digital Edge 50 Award recognizes organizations that have made great strides toward building a digital business

FRAMINGHAM, MA--(Marketwired - December 14, 2016) - The AGENDA17 conference, produced by IDG Enterprise -- the leading enterprise technology media company composed of CIO, Computerworld, CSO, InfoWorld, ITworld and Network World -- is excited to reveal the 2017 Digital Edge 50 award winners. The award recognizes 50 organizations for digital transformation initiatives with significant, measurable business impact. The 50 winners will be honored onsite at the AGENDA17 conference, March 20-22, 2017, at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

The awards program grew to 50 winners this year due to the influx in nominations and the sophistication of their initiatives. Winning projects used technology to drive business innovation, including artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality/augmented reality, cloud, data analytics, and mobile/smart devices. Entries were judged by a panel of executive peers, including past winners, who evaluated projects on complexity, scale, business outcomes and innovation.

"The complexity and scale of the initiatives in the Digital Edge 50 show how quickly organizations are progressing to the next phase of digital transformation," said Anne McCrory, Digital Edge program chair and Group VP, Customer Experience and Operations, IDG Enterprise Events. "They are taking advantage of new capabilities, such as AI and deep machine learning, to enhance their mobile and analytics practices worldwide. They are finding dramatic results from the cloud, and serving customers in faster and more elegant ways. Their adoption of agile, extreme programming and completely reworked business processes show how even the most traditional businesses can go big with digital with the right vision and leadership."

Winning entries span more than 15 industries and seven countries outside the U.S. -- Australia, Belgium, China, France, India, Singapore and Switzerland.

Initiatives are in B2B and B2C environments. They include clinical uses of new technology, such as a remote disease identification app where a patient coughs into an Internet-enabled phone or microphone and the voice file is analyzed for diagnosis; the use of virtual reality headsets in medical education; sensor- and data-driven capabilities for agricultural improvements, beacons that assist employees navigating a corporate campus, data insights for franchise operators, remote building operations and more.

Executives from winning companies will join the speaker roster at the AGENDA17 conference. The conference, produced in partnership with the CIO Executive Council, will bring together more than 300 senior technology leaders and business stakeholders to share best practices, learn new techniques and engage in digital leadership training.
