AgFeed Industries Expected to Join the Russell 2000, Russell 3000 and Russell Microcap Indexes

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 16, 2008) - AgFeed Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: FEED), a leader in China's premix feed and hog raising industries, today announced that, according to the recently posted preliminary membership list at www.russell.com/indexes, AgFeed expects to join the Russell 2000, Russell 3000 and the Russell Microcap indexes when the 2008 reconstitution of the Russell Indexes takes place after the markets close on June 27, 2008.

According to its website, Russell provides the leading U.S. equity index family for institutional investors with over $4.4 trillion in investment assets benchmarked against those indexes. Russell's global indexes offer an objective and transparent way to accurately measure distinct segments of the global market.

Songyan Li, Ph.D., AgFeed's Chairman, commented: "AgFeed is pleased to be associated with the broadly followed Russell Indexes. We look forward to the potential for expanding our institutional shareholder base through inclusion in the Russell Indexes." Dr. Li continued, "We continue to consolidate our position as the largest premix animal feed company and the largest commercial hog producer in China through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. The recent rise in corn prices in the world marketplace is not materially impacting domestic corn prices in China. As a result, AgFeed is not experiencing rising corn prices in hog production."
