DAVIS, CA--(Marketwire - April 5, 2011) - AgraQuest Inc. today announced the appointment of Robert Shapiro to its board of directors effective immediately.

Shapiro is co-founder and Managing Director of Sandbox Industries. He was formerly Chairman and CEO of Monsanto Company. Upon the merger of Monsanto with Pharmacia & Upjohn, he served as Chairman of the newly-formed Pharmacia Corporation. To the board of directors of AgraQuest, he brings deep insight into the agriculture industry as well as corporate governance. Shapiro has served on the boards of the New York Stock Exchange (later NYSE Euronext), Citigroup, Rockwell International, Silicon Graphics, and Sequus Pharmaceuticals.
