NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - September 20, 2016) - Ai Media Group, along with event producers Martino Auto Concepts and thousands of spectators, spent an afternoon raising money and awareness for the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI). The 8th annual Gold Coast Concours 2016, one of the largest automobile shows on the eastern seaboard, was held in the Village Square of Glen Cove, NY. Proceeds from the charity fundraiser will help fund major DRI new treatment protocols and clinical trials currently underway to find a cure for this disease. To date, more than $411,000 dollars have been raised by the producers, sponsors and supporters of the Gold Coast Concours / Bimmerstock 2016 event.
"We're thrilled to have been a key Gold Coast Concours 2016 sponsor and supporter for this annual event," said Sergio Alvarez, COO/Co-founder, Ai Media Group. "As digital marketing experts, we know the integral role research plays in ensuring successful outcomes and we support the Diabetes Research Institute in continuing their mission with Bimmerstock awareness and the added advantages that financial resources provide."
Ai Media Group joined a marquis list of sponsors including Martino Auto Concepts, Exotics4Life.com, BMW of Freeport, Competition BMW, Rallye BMW/Rallye Lexus, Enterprise, Downtown Café, The Chironis Family, Deluxe Car Storage, Experience Auto Group, Long Island Sports Cars, Mobile Sudz and PPG Single Source with support from the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District. The event was organized and chaired by Joe LaPadula and Jon Holzer of Martino Auto Concepts/Exotics4Life.com with support from local elected officials including Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, a DRI Foundation board and event committee member, and Glen Cove Mayor Reginald Spinello, who served as the event's honorary chairman.
"It's a great day for the community of Glen Cove, a great day for car buffs and a great day for the Diabetes Research Institute," said Joe LaPadula of Martino Auto Concepts as hundreds of exotic cars were showcased including BMW, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Porsche and Mercedes. He added, "We are proud to support the Diabetes Research Institute and to help educate the public about this disease through this exciting event."
Founded in 1971 by a group of parents of children with diabetes who were committed to finding a cure for this devastating disease, the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation has evolved into an international coalition of families, patients, business leaders, celebrities, scientists, clinicians and other concerned individuals who have elevated the importance of cure-focused research and shifted the direction of funding into this critical area. DRI is unique among diabetes causes because of their sole concentration on the cure and dedicating their resources -- both financial and human -- to this goal.
