AIASCV Announces 2010 Design Awards to Be Held at Stanford University on Wednesday, October 27, 2010

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - June 15, 2010) -  The American Institute of Architects is the voice of the architectural profession and the resource for its members in service to society. The American Institute of Architects Santa Clara County Chapter is one of 288 chapters throughout the United States. AIASCV is a vital organization composed of licensed architects, individuals, and firms from a range of disciplines related to design and the built environment.

On Wednesday, October 27, 2010, AIASCV will be hosting is AIASCV 2010 Design Awards at the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge at the School of Medicine at Stanford University.

The 2010 AIASCV Design Awards program is seeking excellence in architecture and design of all types and scales that embody the timeless principles of firmness, commodity, and delight. These principles invoke the essence of bold, imaginative, and subtle solutions, which blend structural and energy efficient performance with exciting, elegant, and creative materials and systems.

The Design Awards Program supports the mission, vision, and purpose of the AIASCV, in serving architects, their clients and the public, by promoting and recognizing excellence in design by celebrating exemplary projects that add value to the community and inform the public about the breadth and value of architectural practice.

The call for entries, registration, tickets, and sponsorship information becomes available via the AIASCV website at on June 15th. The deadline for completed applications is Monday, September 20, 2010. AIASCV is also hosting a "How to Submit a Successful Design Award Submittal" on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Blach Construction in Santa Clara between 4:30pm to 6pm. Registration for the workshop is on our calendar at our website at
