AIESEC to Host First Youth Speak Forum, 14th April 2016 in Geneva

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Mar 29, 2016) - While the Youth Speak Forum has already taken place in several locations worldwide, it will be the first one in Switzerland on Thursday, April 14th, 2016. The YouthSpeak Forum is an event that aims to bring experts, business leaders and thought leaders into a conversation around pressing global issues together with young leaders.

Linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that the UN has released and aims to achieve until the year 2030, the YouthSpeak Forum is a unique way to give the youth not only a voice -- but also the chance to act. The initiative Youth for Global Goals which is powered by AIESEC, aims to achieve the leadership potential of young people around the world by engaging and mobilizing them through purposeful and cross-cultural projects around the globe. All projects are designed to support the implementation of the SDGs. More information: http://youth4globalgoals.org/

The main topic for the Swiss YouthSpeak Forum is Social Entrepreneurship. It is considered the most relevant topic for Switzerland, based on the answers to the YouthSpeak Survey. A comprehensive survey, where over 42,000 young people participated in 2015 to engage stakeholders across government, business, third sector, and education.

At the event 400 students and recent graduates will be gathered at the CICG conference center in Geneva to work on projects that have a significant impact on the world. Representatives of the department for Development and Cooperation from the government, representatives from the United Nations Development Program, as well as corporate sector organizations, and several NGOs will build the jury. All projects will be presented to the jury and the best one will be awarded with a fund to support the implementation of the project.
