AIIM International Exposition & Conference Wraps Successful 2008 Event
BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - March 6, 2008) - Questex Media Group, Inc.'s AIIM International
Exposition & Conference (www.aiimexpo.com), the largest, most comprehensive
content and information management event in North America, was held this
week at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. The Exposition &
Conference was co-located with the ON DEMAND Conference & Exposition
(ondemandexpo.com), the preeminent event for commercial printers,
publishers, and in-plant printing professionals. Both events brought
together representatives from 125 Fortune 500 companies registered for this
year's event, which attracted nearly 25,000 visitors from 50 states and
more than 75 countries.
"The success of the Exposition and Conference demonstrates the critical
importance of the content and information management marketplace," said
Beth Torrey, event director, AIIM International Exposition & Conference,
Questex Media Group. "The conference program attracted global business and
technology professionals, while the Expo floor was filled with attendees
exploring innovative technology solutions. From the prominent keynote
speakers to the special events, the event was well received from the point
of view of attendees, exhibitors and sponsors."
The show floor buzzed with product launches and major announcements from
more than 200 exhibitors showcasing the hottest products and technologies
from the information and content management marketplace. Over 70 of the
companies exhibiting were new to the event.
Special features at the events included
-- Co-location with Drupalcon Boston 2008
-- The Vertical Attendee Communities, which included on-floor meeting
areas as well as pre-event and onsite mentoring to help attendees connect
with professionals with similar needs and experiences
-- The Application Showcase Theater, which showcased multimedia product
presentations from leading vendors
-- Doculabs' presentation, which offered debates that were part education
and part entertainment from leading users and providers of ECM technology
-- The Office Solutions Pavilion, which taught leading office systems,
printing and output management vendors how to use a variety of solutions
-- The Channel Connection for VARs which gave VARs, systems integrators,
consultants and their guests a meeting place to connect and develop
relationships with end-users and suppliers.
The headline keynote, "The Power of Simplicity," was presented by David
Pogue, best-selling author and New York Times personal technology columnist
and Matthew Glotzbach, Head of Products, Google Enterprise. John Mancini,

Information Management: The CIO's Perspective," was moderated by Tony

This year, the scope and depth of the AIIM conference program grew to
include17 tracks and more than 120 sessions. The conference program
offered attendees the tools they need to assess, select and implement
technologies that will help end users make better, faster business
decisions, improve business processes and performance, and maximize the
return on an organization's information assets.
Awards presented at the events included EDSF's 2008 Excellence in Education
and Educator of the Year awards.
For five years, the Conference & Expo has given back to the local community
by supporting an education-related charity. For the second year in a row,
the AIIM International Exposition & Conference partnered with the Horace
Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, a Boston Public School.
Exhibitors donated software, printing equipment and supplies, providing the
school with state-of-the-art technology solutions for the school's
educational and career training programs. The New England Chapter of AIIM
has supported the Horace Mann School as a business advisor and partner,
providing both technological expertise and funds, for over 25 years.
The AIIM International Exposition & Conference, co-located with the ON
DEMAND Conference & Exposition, will take place March 30 - April 2, 2009 at
