Air Canada flight attendants approve tentative agreement

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 17, 2015) - Air Canada flight attendants approved by a narrow margin the 10-year agreement reached with the airline last month. "With annual wage increases, unprecedented job security along with numerous important improvements to working conditions, Air Canada flight attendants, at both mainline and rouge, secured a better future," said Michel Cournoyer, president of the Air Canada Component of CUPE.

The bargaining committee is pleased with the membership's decision to endorse the deal. "Air Canada flight attendants are making a long-term commitment to the company," added Cournoyer. "And this commitment goes both ways. By agreeing to key improvements to our collective agreement, the employer acknowledges the invaluable contribution of our members to Air Canada's success, and recognizes the importance of continued partnership."

CUPE represents 7,200 flight attendants at Air Canada and Air Canada rouge.
