Air Canada Pilots Reach Tentative Agreement

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 18, 2011) - The Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) today announced that its negotiating team has reached a tentative agreement with representatives of Air Canada.

I would like to thank our negotiating team for their dedication and outstanding efforts on behalf of their fellow pilots, said ACPA President Captain Paul Strachan.

No details of the tentative agreement were released.

The details will be presented to ACPA's governing Master Executive Council (MEC), which will decide if the tentative agreement should go to the pilots for a ratification vote.

If a vote is held, a series of meetings would be scheduled across the country to explain the tentative agreement to the pilots. Following these meetings, the pilots would have ten days to vote on the deal.

No scheduling decisions will be made until the MEC determines whether to hold a ratification vote.

Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) is the largest professional pilot group in Canada, representing the more than 3,000 pilots who operate Air Canada's mainline fleet.
