Air Liquide Canada Makes Record Contribution to Centraide

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 12, 2006) - Air Liquide Canada today announced that its 2006 contribution to the Centraide Campaign in the Greater Montreal area totalled $123,757.00. This year's total represents a 36% increase over 2005 contributions. This is the highest amount ever contributed by Air Liquide to Centraide of Greater Montreal.

The Montreal-area employees, retirees, and management of Air Liquide, in an innovative adjunct program, held an "artwork raffle". Several Air Liquide employees contributed their own original works of art (paintings, stained glass, and so on) to be raffled off. The response was overwhelming, raising an additional $1,400 for the charitable organization.

Air Liquide's spokesperson for Centraide, Patrick Massie, said, "The reaction to our Centraide Campaign is a source of great pride and gratification for me. I am unceasingly impressed by the generosity and community spirit that my colleagues and our company demonstrate every year."

Air Liquide Canada President and C.O.O., Luc Doyon, added, "Air Liquide firmly believes in responsible corporate citizenship and we are proud to participate annually in the Centraide Campaign. We believe that the company's decision to match employees' contributions is a meaningful way to demonstrate our strong commitment to the communities in which we live and work."

At a presentation ceremony held at Air Liquide Canada's Head Office, Centraide President and General Manger, Mme Michele Thibodeau-Deguire, thanked and praised everyone involved at Air Liquide. "I am impressed with the leadership shown by the management and staff of Air Liquide. It takes a lot of effort and talent to raise such a significant amount. The money donated by Air Liquide will go a long way to helping a lot of people in our community."
