AirBoss Selected by U.S. Military to Supply CBRN Products

NEWMARKET, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 17, 2005) - As part of a special US Military Joint Services procurement initiative AirBoss (TSX:BOS) was the sole company selected for contract awards following Phase II testing of AFS overboots and JB2GU Type II gloves. Pending successful completion of Phase III testing in March 2006 the company anticipates final adoption by the Joint Services of our CBRN ("Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear") overboots and non-flame resistant gloves.

The initial release of orders against these two contracts is expected by July 2006. Ceiling contract values if all option quantities are exercised over the 5-year contract life are US $88 million for overboots and US $33 million for gloves.

Earl Laurie, President of AirBoss Defense has stated, "AirBoss is already a key supplier of CBRN protective wear to the US Navy and Marines and being the sole company to make it through Phase II gives us great confidence in successfully completing Phase III testing and supplying all services. Demand for our CBRN protective wear continues to be strong and we expect continued growth in sales over the next twelve months prior to the commencement of shipments under this contract."

This endorsement by the U.S. military of AirBoss Defense gloves and boots underscores our position as a leading manufacturer of protective outerwear to military and first response markets.

AirBoss is a manufacturer of proprietary rubber and plastic products for the transportation industry and military. AirBoss is also one of North America's largest rubber mixing companies specializing in custom rubber mixing and compound development. AirBoss is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol BOS.
