Airspan Is Selected by Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Co. for Its Next Generation Broadband Wireless Access Network

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwire - July 12, 2007) - Airspan Networks Inc. (NASDAQ : AIRN ), a
leading worldwide provider of WiMAX and Wi-Fi based broadband wireless
access networks, today announced that Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Co.
(GT&T), Guyana's largest telecommunications carrier, has awarded Airspan a
$4.5 million contract to upgrade its Broadband Wireless Access network in
the licensed 3.5Ghz frequency band, using its flagship HiperMAX platform
and customer premises equipment (CPEs).
GT&T offers a wide range of fixed and mobile services in Guyana. The
wireless network will support a full offering of voice and broadband data
services and next generation applications and expand GT&T's footprint to
bring enhanced and broader coverage throughout the country. During the
first phase of its wireless initiative, GT&T is targeting 6,800 subscribers
in the coastal Essequibo region.
