Airspan Unveils Product Strategy for Mobile WiMAX at CTIA, Orlando, Florida


ORLANDO, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 28, 2007 -- Airspan Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIRN), a leading worldwide provider of WiMAX and Wi-Fi based broadband wireless access networks, today demonstrated continued technological leadership with a series of product enhancements unveiled today at CTIA.

--  Widespread availability of the HiperMAX "Software Defined Radio" WiMAX
    base station in multiple FDD and TDD frequency variants centered around 3.5
    GHz. The product line is shipping widely to multiple direct and OEM
    customers.
    
--  The addition of the Base Station Distribution Unit (BDSU) for the
    MicroMAX product line, now shipping in frequencies between 3.3 GHz and 3.7
    GHz and between 5.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz and supporting a full range of Virtual
    Private Network (VPN) and enterprise features in addition to broadband
    connectivity.
    
--  A product partnership with Starent Networks for the ASN Gateway and
    Home Agent - as announced earlier in the day, the companies will offer a
    joint full mobility solution for "Wave 2" 16e Mobile WiMAX.
    
--  Quad Band "Wave 2" 16e USB Mobile Device - as previously announced,
    this product will support the frequency bands 2.5 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 5 GHz
    and in addition will support the critical 2.3 GHz band. Silicon Tape out on
    this device has occurred and first product shipments are expected late in
    2007. Orders for this product are being accepted now.
    
Since the start of 2007, Airspan has delivered over 170 sectors of the HiperMAX platform in 3.5 GHz, with commercial installations in tier one carriers in Europe and in Latin America. This platform today runs the WiMAX Forum certified 802.16-2004 and will be upgraded in software to support the "Wave 2" mobile WiMAX system profile as this is available. Airspan has also delivered over 1,000 sectors each of the similar HiperMAX-Micro in 4.9 GHz, the WiMAX Forum Certified™ MacroMAX and MicroMAX products. The complete architecture is feature rich and stable as a result of the extensive field deployment and an integrated Network Management platform, managing all of the product variants. Airspan also continues to lead in WiMAX/WiFi integration having shipped over 20,000 WiFi enabled WiMAX units.
