AirTight Enhances WLAN Performance and Forensics for Risk Management and Security

New Dashboards and Interpretive Reporting Simplify Forensic Analysis and Accurately Report on WLAN Network Performance

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - January 5, 2010) - AirTight® Networks, the leading provider of wireless security and compliance solutions, announced today the availability of SpectraGuard® 6.0. The release applies AirTight's approach of simplicity and ease of use for wireless LAN security to WLAN performance management and forensics, adding what the company calls Smart Forensics™ and Predictive Performance™.

"Traditional forensics provide too much raw data requiring manual inspection and interpretation, a high level of RF expertise and are time consuming," said Sri Sundaralingam, Vice President of Product Management at AirTight. "As they scale their networks, our customers need reliable tools that allow them to quickly see what factors or threats are impacting the network, drill down to the heart of the problem and resolve it quickly. AirTight has applied the same philosophy of accuracy and simplicity to WLAN forensics and performance that it applies to wireless intrusion prevention -- that is keep it simple, weed out irrelevant data and allow the user to proactively monitor and manage only what matters."

Using SpectraGuard Smart Forensics, customers can understand the what, when, where and who of threats in just two clicks. (see figure 1)

The company has also added a new performance dashboard and reports which provide visibility into performance events by severity, time based trending and in depth performance analysis. (see figure 2 for the new performance dashboard)

AirTight's SpectraGuard Enterprise 6.0 release includes several other major enhancements including IPv6 support. IPv6 support meets US DoD requirements as well as requirements around the world for integrating SpectraGuard Enterprise system into IPv6 networks.

CUSTOMER QUOTE SHEET

SERCO Group (LSE: SRP)

"We advise, design, integrate and deliver solutions that transform how clients achieve their missions. Because our customers are some of the most sensitive agencies of the U.S. government, both security and performance are 'must have' not 'nice to have,'" said Gina English, Senior Network Engineer at Serco-NA. "Government agencies, power companies, airlines, and commercial industries all have cyber components and depend on the secure transmission of data for their successful operations, which is why we chose AirTight for the wireless intrusion prevention we provided to an important Federal agency."

Financial Services Inc.

"We provide SpectraGuard to our customers as a managed security service as well as using it internally to secure our network from wireless threats," said Kevin Reiter, Senior Security Engineer, Financial Services Inc. "When you are dealing with financial data and customer privacy, you need not only to secure the information, but also be able to receive notifications about potential threats. Using SpectraGuard Enterprise enables us to not only enforce our clients' no WiFi policies, but also gives us the ability to provide numerous reports to Federal and third party auditors to prove we are being proactive with wireless security."

USAID

"Good risk management requires a high dependence on receiving and understanding the information which is delivered in a timely manner. As you can imagine that is no easy task when your infrastructure is scattered in over 70 countries," said John Kemon, Program Manager at the United States Agency for International Development. "USAID has used AirTight SpectraGuard Enterprise for a little over three years to ensure unauthorized 802.11 devices are not connected to the network. The new enhancements provide more actionable information which will allow us to react faster to any perceived threats without wasting time and manpower on irrelevant data."
