AIS (American Internet Services) Joins the VMware Service Provider Program

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 15, 2014) - AIS (American Internet Services), the Southwest's leading provider of tailored data center and cloud service solutions, today announced that it is now a member of the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP) as an Enterprise level member.

AIS has been providing VMware-based cloud services in the Southwest region since June 2012. The company's flagship cloud offering, AIS BusinessCloud1, is a powerful public cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering that uses VMware infrastructure. AIS provides client-specific Network, Compute, and Storage resources -- a virtual data center (vDC) -- on a fully-managed, extremely secure platform accessible via the Internet -- or, for greater flexibility and security, Layer 3 virtual private network (VPN) connectivity.

"Elevating to the Enterprise level of the VMware Service Provider Program reflects our commitment to, and success in, supporting the IT infrastructure needs of businesses throughout the Southwest," stated Greg Rollet, CEO, AIS. "With geographically-diverse VMware cloud instances in San Diego and Phoenix, AIS has the experience, resiliency, and resources to help customers migrate securely to the cloud for maximum operational and economic benefit."

"We are pleased that AIS has entered the VMware Service Provider Program at the Enterprise level," said Geoff Waters, vice president, Global Channel Partners, VMware. "VMware is uniquely positioned to help service providers like AIS develop their own cloud computing businesses to enable them to increase revenue, differentiate service offerings, and accelerate growth opportunities, and we're excited to welcome AIS as an enterprise level member."

The VMware Service Provider Program was created for partners who offer cloud computing and/or hosted IT services to enterprise and SMB customers. Through a product subscription model, VSPP provides partners flexibility in offering VMware virtualization solutions, applications and services to their customers with no up-front expense. VSPP creates new opportunities for service providers and helps them expand revenue streams with new lines of business based on VMware product portfolios, including virtualization and cloud infrastructure, cloud application and end-user computing -- setting the foundation for greater profitability and success.
